FSB 2025: Zukunft gestalten durch Bewegung, Raum und Gemeinschaft
Vorbericht: Internationale Leitmesse für Freiraum, Sport- und Bewegungseinrichtungen vom 28. bis 31. Oktober 2025 in Köln
Die Zeichen stehen auf Zukunft: Wenn vom 28. bis 31. Oktober 2025 die internationale Fachmesse FSB wieder die Hallen der Koelnmesse füllt, trifft sich die globale Branche für Freiraum, Sport- und Bewegungseinrichtungen zu einem einzigartigen Innovationsaustausch. Die FSB gilt als wichtigste Businessplattform für Expert:innen aus Stadtplanung, Sportanlagenbau, Architektur, öffentlicher Verwaltung und Wirtschaft – und setzt 2025 ein starkes Zeichen für die resiliente, inklusive und gesunde Stadt von morgen.Starke internationale Beteiligung – fast ausgebuchte Messehallen
Schon jetzt ist klar: Die FSB 2025 wird erneut zum globalen Marktplatz der Innovation. Rund 620 Unternehmen aus 41 Ländern haben sich zur kommenden Ausgabe angemeldet – ein neuer Spitzenwert. Besonders stark vertreten sind die Märkte aus den Niederlanden, Italien, Spanien, Frankreich, den USA, Belgien, Großbritannien, Polen, China und der Türkei.
Auch zahlreiche Marktführer und Schlüsselakteure haben frühzeitig ihre Teilnahme zugesagt – viele mit vergrößerten Standflächen. Unter den bereits bestätigten Ausstellern finden sich:

#bettertogether: Messeplattform für Gesundheit, Bewegung und Nachhaltigkeit
Wie schon 2023 wird die FSB auch 2025 wieder parallel zur aquanale veranstaltet. Unter dem verbindenden Leitmotiv #bettertogether entsteht damit eine übergreifende Plattform, die die drei Megatrends Urbanisierung, Gesundheit und Nachhaltigkeit zusammenführt.
Bewegung und Sport sind elementare Bestandteile resilienter Gesellschaften – das wurde in den letzten Jahren überdeutlich. Die FSB adressiert diese Bedeutung ganz konkret: mit Produkten, Konzepten und Best Practices für gesunde, integrative und klimaangepasste Freiräume.
Matthias Pollmann, Geschäftsbereichsleiter der Koelnmesse, betont:

Resilienz, soziale Teilhabe und Klimaschutz im Fokus
Die vergangenen Jahre – von der Pandemie über geopolitische Krisen bis hin zur Energiekrise – haben die Verwundbarkeit unserer Infrastruktur offengelegt. Insbesondere der Sport- und Freizeitbereich war und ist davon stark betroffen.
Genau hier setzt die FSB 2025 an. Sie zeigt praxistaugliche und wirtschaftlich tragfähige Ansätze zur integralen Nachhaltigkeit – gemeinsam mit renommierten Partnern wie der IAKS, ESTC, DOSB, Initiative New Life, Sportstättenrechner, BDLA NRW, BSFH und vielen weiteren.
Umfassendes Rahmenprogramm mit Leuchtturm-Veranstaltungen
Ein Herzstück der FSB bleibt das hochkarätige Rahmenprogramm, das auch 2025 tiefgehende Impulse und echte Mehrwerte für Fachbesucher:innen bietet:
IAKS-Kongress – 29. Ausgabe mit Weitblick
Unter dem Motto „Starke Infrastruktur für eine aktive Zukunft schaffen“ beleuchtet der weltweit renommierte Kongress Fragen wie:
- Wie erreichen wir Netto-Null in Sport- und Freizeitanlagen?
- Wie gelingt inklusive Infrastruktur für alle?
- Was braucht eine neue Generation nachhaltiger Sportflächen?
- Wie maximieren Stadien ihren sozialen und wirtschaftlichen Nutzen?
3. Deutscher Sportstättentag
Veranstaltet von IAKS, DOSB, DST, DStGB und BISp steht der Sportstättentag ganz im Zeichen gemeinwohlorientierter und klimafreundlicher Sportstättenentwicklung.

Bereits zum fünften Mal vernetzen sich hier Vertreter:innen aus Vereinen, Kommunen, Planungsbüros und Industrie. Auf dem Programm stehen u.a. Finanzierungs- und Fördermodelle, Nachhaltigkeit im Sportstättenbau sowie reale Best-Cases aus der Praxis – initiiert von Sportstättenrechner und FAIRPLAID.
planerFORUM & Areal STADT und RAUM
Mit dem Bund Deutscher Landschaftsarchitekten NRW (BDLA NRW), dem BSFH und der Koelnmesse entsteht ein kreatives Forum für Planer:innen, Architekt:innen und kommunale Entscheider:innen. Diskussion, Praxisberichte und neue Ansätze zur Gestaltung urbaner Bewegungsräume stehen im Fokus.
Marketplace Play & Exercise & Inklusionsareal
In Kooperation mit Playground@Landscape kehrt das Areal mit wachsender Beteiligung zurück. Zusätzlich präsentiert die FSB in Halle 9 ein neues Inklusionsareal, in dem inklusive Spiel- und Bewegungsgeräte live erlebt werden können – ein starker Impuls für barrierefreie Freiraumgestaltung.
Fachveranstaltung „Nachhaltige Eissporthallen“
Gemeinsam mit DEB, DEU, EHV NRW und der IAKS wird die Zukunft nachhaltiger Eissport-Infrastruktur diskutiert: CO₂-neutral, wirtschaftlich und bedarfsgerecht.
Köln als internationaler Hotspot der Branche
Mit dem Messeduo aus FSB und aquanale ist Köln einmal mehr der zentrale Ort für alle Themen rund um Bewegung, Freiraum, Gesundheit und urbane Qualität. Die Zielmarke auf Besucherseite liegt bei rund 28.000 Fachgästen aus dem In- und Ausland.

FSB 2025: shaping the future through exercise, leisure space and community
The line-up for the International Trade Fair for Public Space, Sports and Leisure Facilities – from 28 to 31 October 2025 in Cologne
All signs point to the future: when the international trade fair FSB fills Koelnmesse’s halls again from 28 to 31 October 2025, the global public space, sports and leisure facilities industry will come together for a unique showcase of innovation. FSB is widely regarded as the most important business platform for experts in the fields of urban planning, sports facility construction, architecture, public administration and business – and in 2025, it will send out a strong signal in support of the resilient, inclusive and healthy city of tomorrow.Strong level of international participation – exhibition halls almost fully booked
One thing is already clear: FSB will be the global marketplace for innovation once again in 2025. Around 620 companies from 41 countries have registered for the upcoming edition – a new record. The Netherlands, Italy, Spain, France, the USA, Belgium, the UK, Poland, China and Turkey are particularly well represented.
A wealth of market leaders and key players have also been quick to confirm their participation, with many opting to increase their stand space. Among the exhibitors already confirmed are:

#bettertogether: trade fair platform for health, exercise and sustainability
As in 2023, FSB will once again be held in co-location with aquanale in 2025. United by #bettertogether as a common theme, the joint event will form a comprehensive platform, bringing together the three megatrends of urbanisation, health and sustainability.
Exercise and sport are fundamental components of resilient societies – this has become crystal clear in recent years. FSB addresses their importance head-on with products, concepts and best practices that promote healthy, inclusive leisure space that has been adapted to take account of climate change.
As Matthias Pollmann, Koelnmesse’s Vice President Trade Fair Management, points out:
“Our cities need to include areas that are not only functional but also socially and environmentally beneficial. FSB is the stage where solutions for an active society are showcased and open to discussion – and it attracts international attention.”
Focus on resilience, social inclusion and climate action
In recent years – spanning the pandemic, geopolitical turmoil and the energy crisis – the vulnerability of our infrastructure has been exposed. The sports and leisure sector in particular has been and continues to be severely affected.
And this is exactly where FSB 2025 comes in. It aims to showcase practical and financially viable approaches to integrated sustainability – in collaboration with a host of well-known partners including IAKS (International Association for Sports and Leisure Facilities), ESTC (EMEA Synthetic Turf Council), DOSB (German Olympic Sports Confederation), the NEW LIFE initiative, Sportstättenrechner (the online cost calculator for sports facilities), BDLA NRW (North Rhine-Westphalia branch of the Federation of German Landscape Architects) and BSFH (German Association of Playground Equipment and Leisure Facility Manufacturers).
Comprehensive supporting programme featuring flagship events
One of the core elements of FSB remains its first-class event programme, which will offer in-depth inspiration and genuine added value for trade visitors once again in 2025.
IAKS Congress – 29th edition takes a farsighted perspective
With “Creating high-performing facilities for an active future” as its motto, the world-renowned congress will address questions such as:
- How can we achieve net zero in sports and leisure facilities?
- How can we create inclusive infrastructure that serves everyone?
- What requirements must a new generation of sustainable sports facilities fulfil?
- How can stadiums maximise their social and economic benefits?
3rd German Sports Facilities Day
Organised by IAKS (International Association for Sports and Leisure Facilities), DOSB (German Olympic Sports Confederation), DST (Association of German Cities), DStGB (German Association of Towns and Municipalities) and BISp (German Federal Institute for Sports Science), the Sports Facilities Day is all about developing sports venues in Germany that are both socially beneficial and climate friendly.

For the fifth time, representatives from clubs, local authorities, planning offices and industry will come together here to network. Topics on the agenda include financing and funding models, sustainability in sports facility construction and best-practice examples drawn from real life – initiated by FAIRPLAID and Sportstättenrechner, the online cost calculator for sports facilities.
plannerFORUM & the STADT und RAUM area
A creative forum for planners, architects and municipal decision-makers will be held in collaboration with the North Rhine-Westphalia branch of the Federation of German Landscape Architects (BDLA NRW), the Association of Playground Equipment and Leisure Facility Manufacturers (BSFH) and Koelnmesse. It will focus on discussion, case studies and new approaches to the design of sports and leisure facilities in urban areas.
Marketplace Play & Exercise and inclusive zone
Hosted in cooperation with Playground@Landscape, the area is returning with a growing number of participants. In Hall 9, FSB will also be presenting a new inclusive zone, where visitors can experience accessible play and exercise equipment in person – providing a strong source of inspiration for the design of public spaces that can be enjoyed by all members of society.
Specialist event: sustainable ice sports facilities
This specialist event, hosted together with the German Ice Hockey Federation (DEB), the German Ice Skating Union (DEU), the North Rhine-Westphalia Ice Hockey Association (EHV NRW) and IAKS, has been organised to discuss the future of sustainable ice sports infrastructure: carbon neutral, cost-effective and needs-based.
Cologne – international hotspot for the industry
With the trade fair duo of FSB and aquanale, Cologne is once again set to be the key destination for all topics related to exercise, public space, health and the quality of urban life. Together, the co-located events aim to attract around 28,000 trade visitors from inside and outside Germany.
“We are creating a platform that showcases solutions to the challenges of our time – from responding to the climate crisis and demographic change all the way through to strengthening social inclusion,” explains Matthias Pollmann. “This trade fair is a must for anyone who wants to play a part in shaping the towns and cities of tomorrow.”
